Robotics Teams with Mr. Poole
The QAE robotics teams will be part of a big, worldwide robotics program . Your child will be part of a global competition with over 200,000 children from more than 60 countries! They will discover the fun in science and technology. They will research real-life problems and think of how technology can help. Younger students will design models using LEGO bricks and moving parts. Older students will design, build, test, and program robots using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology.
Intro to Robotics Through Junior FIRST LEGO League
Junior FIRST LEGO League (Jr.FLL) captures young children’s inherent curiosity and directs it toward discovering the wonders of science and technology. Jr.FLL was developed to introduce 6 to 9 year-old students to science concepts and teamwork.
Age group: 6 - 9 years
Cost: $100 per session per student
Time: Wednesday morning from 8:00 to 9:10 am
Class size: Limited to 10 students
2013 Winter Session: Jan 16 - Mar 27 with an Expo on Mar 30th
Beginning Robotics I
Beginning Robotics is the follow-up for children that have already taken Intro to Robotics and been part of a Jr.FLL team. The children will build LEGO models that respond to their environment with working motors and sensors; they will learn to program the models; and continue their exploration of science, technology, engineering, and math.
Age group: 6 - 9 years
Cost: $100 per session per student
Time: Two classes
1) Tuesday morning from 8:00 to 9:10 am
2) An afternoon time from 3:45 - 5:00 pm. The day is being picked now so it won't interfere with spring soccer. Please let me know if you are interested in this one, so I can get you the latest information.
Class size: Each limited to 10 students
2013 Winter Session: Jan 15 - Mar 26
