Chess Club with Chess Mates

Join Queen Anne Elementary Chess Club and learn tactics and strategies of chess! Chess Mates has been offering after-school chess programs in Seattle area public schools for more than 20 years. Chess helps children build critical thinking skills and learn focus and plan.
Each class will include lesson presentation, chess puzzle-solving time and game playing time. Chess Mates will provide student workbooks, chess sets and boards and other materials. All you need to be is eager to play and learn! Scholarships are available.
Both beginner and intermediate players are welcome!
Age group: Grade K-1
Cost: $50 per 8 weeks per student

Time: Tuesday afternoons 3:40 – 4:45 pm
Location: Tree House 307 (Ms. Hunter's room)
Dates:
Fall session: Oct: 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; Nov: 6, 13, 27, 2012. (Oct. 2 to November 27, no class on November 20).
Winter session: Jan: 15, 22, 29; Feb: 5, 12, 19, 26; March: 5 (January 15 to March 5, 8 consecutive weeks).
Spring session: April: 2, 9, 23, 30; May: 7, 14, 21, 28 (April 2 to May 28, no class during Spring Break April 16)
